Landing Near Washington, Missouri, by Ken Holder

Landing Near Washington, Missouri
Watercolor by Kenneth Holder

For the past few years, Kenneth Holder has researched and traveled the Lewis & Clark Trail, interpreting in paintings as much of the landscape as it appears today as he could. The work evolved in a series of sketchbooks containing almost 400 watercolors documenting what the landscape has become since Lewis & Clark. This exhibit consists of 33 works from the sketchbook watercolors that would represent scenes of the entire trip from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean, as well as two of the larger studio watercolors.

This exhibit is partially sponsored and presented through the Montana Art Gallery Directors Association in conjunction with the Holter Museum of Helena, Montana
