Flathead Collects American Painters
July 24 through October 18, 2003

Funding provided by a grant from Wallace Readers Digest and Montana Arts Council

Flathead Collects American Painters is a walk through American art history with the help of local art collections. It will offer a glimpse of some of the great American painters from the early 1800’s into the late 1900’s. The Flathead is home to many outstanding art collections. This exhibit will feature works from several periods of American art history, including important artistic movements in western American art. Many local collections focus on the art and culture that captured the west on canvas as it once was. Collectors from around the Flathead have graciously loaned works for this exhibition and we thank them all. Flathead Collects American Painters will be a wonderful chance to view the legacy of American art history right here in our back yard.
