Annual FVCC Student Photography Exhibition

April 21 through May 28, 2005

Black & White Photograph -- 7 X 9 inches

The annual Flathead Valley Community College Student Photography exhibition features the work of students in Peter Hertlein’s Advanced Black and White Photography course. This year’s theme is The Five Senses and the photographs are students’ interpretations through the use of different shooting and darkroom techniques. All the images are silver halide based and printed and manipulated in the dark room. Additionally, some images are toned and hand colored. While the subject was the same for all students, the results are quite different as students expressed their individual visions through their photographs. Hertlein is a dedicated instructor who knows how to bring out the best in his students. He exhibits in galleries around the country and is included in the J. Paul Getty Museum collection.
